The Sleek Rio Rio Palette & OCC's Hoochie Lip Tar! Full Face of the Day post today, with a list of all the products I used at the bottom of the page.

On Monday I posted swatches from the latest offering from Sleek and here is the makeup that I created with it this past Saturday.  It was probably a bit much for a birthday party in a friend's garden, but hey... I like to overdo.

I started with a purple lip, using OCC's Hoochie Lip Pencil and the Lip Tar of the same name. I absolutely loved this lip, it's a gorgeous colour!  I did end up changing it though.

As I mentioned above, I actually ended up changing the lip tar out for another OCC produc; their Stained Gloss in Aurora, because the Hoochie was lovely and would've been great for a night out, but was a bit too much for a garden party! haha.  So here it is with the alternative lip (and a moody face).

And a bonus wet hair/concealer highlighting sexeh face!  Hmmm!

Last week, Sleek launched their latest limited edition eyeshadow palette, the Rio Rio i-Divine.  It's got lots of bright colours and I am a huge fan of the Sleek eyeshadows, so I was excited to pick this up.

Here's the outer packing:

Top row, L-R: Tropics, Night Fever, Ipanema, Caipirinha, Urca, Leblon
Bottom row, L-R: Chacaca, City of God, Copacabana, Sao Conrado, Bossa Nova, Leme

 A couple of close ups

Swatches (both were taken in the same light but the weather was changing all the time, which is why the look different):

Top row, L-R: Tropics, Night Fever, Ipanema, Caipirinha, Urca, Leblon

Bottom row, L-R: Chacaca, City of God, Copacabana, Sao Conrado, Bossa Nova, Leme

I took a close up finger swatch of Bossa Nova to try and capture the lovely almost bluey duochrome, this purple shadow has. It's seriously gorgeous and probably my favourite shad in the palette.  I did a look with this palette using this colour and Sao Conrado (the pink to the left of it) and a wee touch of Leme (the blue to the right.  Keep your eye out for a FOTD of that on Wednesday!

I was hoping to pick up Sleek's new foundation too but sadly it has beeswax in. Boo.

That's all for now. Happy Monday everyone! :)

Well hello there!

I have a load of new stuff lately that I've been playing with and so I thought I'd talk about some of it here.

Firstly the last palette I bought from Sleek, it's the (sadly) limited edition Del Mar palette. As I said it's limited edition and the Sleek website isn't showing it anymore. But Superdrug's website appears to still have it if you're interested.

So it's mainly matte colours an they're all bright and super pretty.... check it out!  I will post full swatches of all the colours in another post as soon as I can so for now here's a pic of the palette colours.

I used the matte brown (mixed with a bit of the orange shade) and the two bright orangey pinks and also the lighter purple on the lower lashline to create this look. I was pretty happy with how it came out.  Because they are matte, it takes a bit more work to get the vibrancy you want. So I used a light base (I used OCC Conceal in R0 for this) and packed the lid colours on with a flat brush.

Some other recent purchases I've been playing with...
Eyeshadows and eyebrow kit from B, Makeup Revolution highlighter, eyeliner, liquid blush and lip gloss.  Firstly the stuff I love!

The B cream shadow is a gorgeous green and with the green from the palette on top (which is pretty much a dead on match colour wise) it is lovely and lasts all day.

The eyebrow kit is not bad at all. It has a couple of waxes and a couple of powders and a brush that is ridiculously tiny but does the job ok if you don't have another to hand.  I still prefer a pencil on my brows but I like to use the wax and powder in this as well sometimes, to add a bit more dimension.

From Makeup Revolution I got the pink lights highlighter and I like it. It's a lovely colour and not too glittery.  I also have the gold one which is beautiful but too gold for my pale skin. I use it on the eyes more often than not but I think it would look amazing as a highlighter on deeper skin tones.  Unfortunately this doesn't show up well in the photo below but I'm sure it'll be in a future favourites post so I'll try and do a hand swatch.

I also love the liquid blush that I got.  (They're very similar to the ELF ones which I also love!)  This is the shade O' Boy which is a lovely pink. You only need a teeny amount, as below (in fact that was a wee bit too much and I blended it down a bit with my foundation brush!) I'll probably pick up some of the other shades of this, at £3 each, they're a bargain!
Blended

Then what I didn't like, the eyeliner from makeup revolution.  Maily, I hate the applicator. It's awful! It's the shape of a felt tip but it's plasticky and SUPER hard to work with.  So I started with that and gave up and switched to dipping my Louise Young fine liner brush into it and working with that.  Even that way I struggled to get a decent line....
That took absolutely ages faffing around trying to get it need and using an angled brush dipped in eyemakeup remover to clean it up. So yeah, not a fan of that. Although it's waterproof so it did stay on all day, so silver linings and all that!! haha

I have so much other new stuff to play with this week too, so I'll keep you posted on anything I love!

What have you bought/loved lately? I'd love to know!

My Wore it Wednesday this week is an eye look I did last night with the new palette from Sleek. I'm not sure if you can even buy this online, I got it in Superdrug and the packaging mentions that it is to celebrate 50 years of Superdrug. If you can find it, it's definitely worth picking up.

The Limited Edition Showstoppers Palette (AV*)

Here are some swatches; I apologise for the lighting, it was late afternoon when I took these and these are the best I could get.
Top Row
L-R: Paraguaya, Sunset, Me, Myself & Eye, Bad Girl, Noir, Ultra Mattes V2
I know it looks like there's only 5 shades here, but the far left shade (Paraguaya) doesn't show up in the pic  because it's almost the same shade as my skin - so great for blending! :o)

Bottom Row
L-R: Oh So Special, Bohemian, Storm, Sparkle, Au Natural, Graphite

This palette is lovely. I love Graphite, it's a gorgeous bronzey brown and sparkle is a beautiful frosty highlight colour.

Here's the look I created. I used a light concealer as a base as I don't have a white that'd work and I wanted to make the pink brighter. I think Bohemian (the peachy pink) shows up a little truer to it's actual colour in the swatch above; my camera washed the whole eye makeup look out. Fail.  I used Sparkle for the highlight under my badly-need-to-be-done brows and the inner corner. The waterline is Sleek's Eau La La pencil in Cobalt Blue (V). Gel liner is Makeup Geek's Immortal (CV).

Happy humpday!

*As always, I have to mark this as appears vegan, because Sleek's customer services are pretty rubbish and do not answer emails, messages, tweets .... etc! I can never find anything in the ingredients lists of the iDivines that is suspect but they are not listed as vegan on Sleek's website (or the list they sent me) and they won't answer why this is.  But when I asked a couple of years ago they said it was due to possible cross-contamination.   FACEPALM!!

So unless hell freezes over and Sleek actually bother to answer an email/tweet; I will continue to assume this is the case and that makes the palettes vegan to me.
Thought I'd post a quick face of the day for no reason other than I am wearing my favourite eyeliner. Full list of products under the pics.

Eyeball close up!

Horrible lip shot - I suck at taking lip pics! haha.

And look at my earrings! I LOVE them. (From Claire's Accessories)

So I'm kicking off my newly rebooted blog with a review of the latest offering from Sleek Makeup.  Their Garden of Eden iDivine eyeshadow palette.

Sadly, it's limited edition; sadly because it's gorgeous.

Firstly a tiny little baby gripe .... a plastic insert with the shade names on! Yuck. I wish that the shade names were somewhere on the body of the palette so you don't have to keep this thing that constantly falls out and flies around your bedroom! GAHH.  Also, foam tip applicator. A FOAM TIP APPLICATOR!  I think it's time companies started doing away with these. If they did, there'd be more room in the palette for, I dunno... shade names??  Gah.

So vent over. I will let the above go and calmly breathe, because this palette is less than a tenner (£7.99 to be precise) and it's lovely.  Most of the colours are really pigmented, they are smooth and they blend well, just like all of Sleek's palettes. Also, the colours are super pretty.  So here's the outer packaging.

Inside shot

Below are swatches of the colours. All the swatches are done dry, 2 swipes with no primer underneath.

Swatch of Top Row
(L-R = 'Gates of Eden', 'Eve's Kiss', 'Paradise on Earth', 'Python', 'Forbidden' and 'Flora'.
Swatches of Bottom Row
(L-R = 'Entwined', 'Adam's Apple', 'Fig', 'Evergreen', 'Fauna', 'Tree of Life'.

And a close up of Fig, Evergreen, Fauna & Tree of Life as it's a bit tricky to see them on the above pic.

Hopefully you can see in the swatches that most of the colours are shimmery. There's 3 matte colours ('Flora' on the top row, 'Adam's Apple' and 'Tree of Life' on the bottom row.) Really this could do with a slightly lighter matte brown than Flora, to serve as a nice transition colour. The palette could also benefit from an off-white matte for brow bone highlighting, rather than the light matte green that is Adam's Apple.  That shade isn't particularly pigmented and I'd probably only really use it for blending out the darker greens, if ever. Over a white sticky eye base, this might show up better.

All in all, I really like this palette and if you like greens and shimmery earthy tones, it's definitely for you.

Here's a couple of eye looks I did with the palette.  (My computer shows the pictures as pretty washed out, my phone shows them as pretty true to life!)

Firstly using Fauna and Evergreen on the lid, Python in the crease and a bit of tree of life on the outer v. (Please ignore my terrible brows, I had them threaded the day after this!)

Secondly a more neutral look using Eve's Kiss and Python. I wish Eve's Kiss showed up a bit better in this pic because it really is a lovely lovely colour.

Available from Superdrug stores, online and Sleek's website for £7.99.
